My God Has Come To Save Me
Waterdeep
(C) 2001 by Hey Ruth Music (ASCAP) and Squint Songs (ASCAP)

This is my personal interpretation of what I hear on the album.
It is not copied from any songbook.

This is in the key of E major. The posting that I worked from
argued this uses the root 5 chords B(14), G#m(11), A(12), and E(7).
The author was probably correct, but I can't play that far up the
neck on my acoustic guitar. Therefore I recommend playing
the root 6 chords E, G#m, A, and B.

E Gm A B
------ ------ ------ ------
|||3|| (4)111111  (5)111111 (7)111111
|21|||    ||||||     |||3||    |||3||
          |21|||     |21|||    |21|||

Song structure is:

INTRO
-----
The picking is all downstrokes (6 B, 1 A, 6 E, 1 A, 6 B..)
and there are 16 beats for B-A-E-A.
For instance, "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven AND
one, two, three, four, five, six, seven AND..."
B A E A (14 total downstrokes in 16 beats)
B A E A (14 total downstrokes in 16 beats)

VERSE 1
-------
B A E
On the day God saved us
              A B
 the people all sang,
                    A E
 "Praise the Father in heaven."
                 A G#M
 He was angry with me

 but now he comforts me

 oh how he comforts me.

CHORUS
------
 E B A
My God has come to save me.
E B A
I will trust him and not be afraid.
 E B A
My God has come to save me.
E B A E
He is my strength and my song.

VERSE 2
-------

We will drink from the fountain

 where salvation springs.

 All the people will shout

 "Praise to our King."

 Tell the nations about it,

 and help them to see

 He's the maker of heaven.

 He's over everything.

 He's over everything.

 My God loves everything.

SOLO
----
I still need to figure out the solo.
Until then, use the chords.

B A E A (14 total downstrokes in 16 beats)
B A E A (14 total downstrokes in 16 beats)

E B A E
He is my strength and my song.
E B A E
He is my strength and my song.
