Thirsty - Chris Rice
(Key of E – Chords every 2 beats) rev.

VERSE #1 (piano only)
I’m so
E	E	E6/C#	E6/C#
thirsty. I can feel it, burning
D2	D2	Bsus B (hold)
through the furthest corners of my soul. Deep
E	E	E6/C#	E6/C#
desire I can’t describe this nameless
D2	D2	Bsus	B - B6/A
urge that drives me somewhere though I don’t know where to go. Seems I’ve
A E/G#	G#/C	C#m7
heard about a river from someone who’s been. And they
A	E/G#	D/B	E - E/G#
tell me once you reach it oh you’ll never thirst again. So, I
A	E/G#	G#/C - G#/D#	C#m7 - C#m7/B
have to find the river, somehow my life depends on the
A	A	D2	D2
river Holy river Other

VERSE #2 (Add drums/Accoust.)
E	E	E6/C#	E6/C#
water I’ve been drinkin’ but they
D2	D2	Bsus B (hold)
always leave me empty like before. Satis-
E	E	E6/C#	E6/C#
faction all I’m askin’ could I
D2	D2	Bsus B - B6/G#
really be this thirsty if there weren’t something more. And I
A E/G#	G#/C	C#m7
heard about a river from someone who’s been. And they
A	E/G#	D/B	E - E/G#
tell me once you reach it oh you’ll never thirst again. So, I
A	E/G#	G#/C - G#/D#	C#m7 - C#m7/B
have to find the river, somehow my life depends on the
A	A	D2	D2
river Holy river I am so

CHORUS #1
E	E	C#m	C#m
thirsty. I am so
D2	D2	Bsus	B (hold)
thirsty. Along the

Thirsty (pg.2)

VERSE #3 (Piano & bass only)
E	E	E6/C#	E6/C#
shore now of the wildest river and I
D2	D2	Bsus B (hold)
kneel and beg for mercy from the skies No one
E	E	E6/C#	E6/C#
answers. Gotta take my chances `cause
D2	D2	Bsus	B - B6/G#
something deep inside me’s crying this is why you are alive. So, I
A E/G#	G#/C	C#m7
plunge into the river with all that I am. Praying
A	E/G#	D/B	E - E/G#
this will be the river where I’ll never thirst again. I’m
A	E/G#	G#/C - G#/D#	C#m7 - C#m7/B
abandoned to the river, and now my life depends on the
A	A	D2	D2
river Holy river I am so

CHORUS #2
E	E	C#m	C#m
thirsty. So
D2	D2	Bsus	B
thirsty. I am so
E	E	C#m	C#m
thirsty. I am so
D2	D2	Bsus	B
thirsty. Oh…

E	E	C#m	C#m

I'd change the G#/C for C°

actually the more correct name for G#/C would be G#/B#. It's basically the same thing though so it's not really a big deal
