Capo 1
Intro: D/F# G D/F# G D/F# A D

Verse (repeat intro chords)

D/F# G
  Give thanks to the Lord
          D/F# G
For He is good
    D/F# A D
His love endures forever

  He is my strength
And He's my song
His love endures forever

  I will proclaim
What He has done
His love endures forever

Bridge
F G F
I will enter and give thanks to Him
F G F
This holy gate, the righteous may enter
F G
  I will give You thanks
    F
You answered me
    G A Bm
You are my salvation

Chorus
Bm A G F#
This is the day the Lord has made
Bm A G F#
I will rejoice and be glad in it
[2x]

I'd barre everything but the verse. To play the stuff after the chorus
that's on the album, just repeat the same chords again. The second to
last chord is an A, and the final chord is a Bm. Send questions and
comments to xkcerman@yahoo.com.

That's the tab for the song as close as I could figure it out. Generally, Shane uses the the technique where he hits the bass note and then strums the chord, but he just does it in a different rhythym than you'd normally think. All it really consists of is picking/strumming D/F# [200230], G9 [300230], A-Asus [002220]-[002230], and picking D2-Dsus-D-D2 [x00230]-[x00233]-[x00232]-[x00230].
If you find that the syncopated rhythym that Shane uses is hard for you to keep going, you can always play it like "Here We Go Again" on Rocks Won't Cry, because it's the same D/F# - G9 picking pattern just without going to A-Asus and the D2-Dsus-D-D2 riff. It's a little easier to keep up with so you could always start with that. Hope that helped some, and I have the powertab for it if you want me to send it to you. Sk8crazy07@netscape.net if that interests you, also for questions/comments. Awesome. Have a great day.

in Him,
John Mark
