Song: I'll Never Do That
Artist: twothirtyeight
Album: Missing You Dearly
Written by twothirtyeight (c)1998
Tabbed By: William Giacchi (axeman@iolvegas.com)

Standard Tuning
All these chords and leads can be transferred to the open position on
the D string, I just prefer the 5th position on the A string.

Intro:
G-6-
D-7-
A-5-
E---

Bass Intro (after snare intro):
G-----------------------------------2-2-2-2-
D-------------------2-4-5-5-5-5-5-5---------
A-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-------------------------
E-------------------------------------------
Then the guitars come in with this:
Gtr.1 (This is the rhythm in the verses also)
E----------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------
G-------------------66-77777777-9999-----
D----77777777777777-44-55555555-7777----- x4
A----55555555555555----------------------
E----------------------------------------
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm mm mmmmmmmm mmmm
Gtr.2
E------------------------------------------
B------------------------------------------
G------------------------------------------
D------4--5-4-5-4--5-4--------4--5-4-5-4---
A-5-7------------------5-5-7------------5-
E------------------------------------------
x2
E-----------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------
G-----------------------------------------
D-------4--5-4-5-4--5-4-----4--5-4-5-5/12-
A-5-5-7-----------------5-7---------------
E-----------------------------------------

Transition into verse is both guitars doing this x4:
E------------
B------------
G-7-6-7------
D-7-7-7--4-5-
A-5-5-5--4-5-
E--------2-3-

Then the verse is the above listed muted rhythm figure, with this
little lead coming in on the second repetition:
E-------------------------------------------55---
B-88-77-88-77-88-77-88-77-88-77-88-77-88-77----77
G------------------------------------------------

After the vocals stop in the verse, both guitars play the rhythm figure
unmuted a few times. The weird high-pitched solo is this repeated x16:

Gtr. 1
E----------------
B-88--77--55-----
G-------------77-
D----------------
A----------------
E----------------

Gtr. 2
E-5-0-5-4-5-0-5-4
B----------------
G----------------
D----------------
A----------------
E----------------

Guitar 2 may be slightly different, but that's as close as I could get.
Then go back to the unmuted verse rhythm and the lead riff. End with the
intro-verse transition x2.

Key:
m- palm muted notes
/- slide up

Lyrics:
If I could cut you off without conscience
I'd dismiss you like someone I never knew
Although I feel you brought the world upon my shoulders
There are some things I just can't bring myself to do
Myself to do

And that's it. Great song by a great new emo band. This is actually only
their 1st of three CDs, believe it or not. Have fun with this tab and God
bless.

The second guitar part in the high-pitched solo, I think, is as such:

e-4-2-5-2-4-2-5-2

I tried it out, and it sounded a bit closer.
Although this is really late to say, great tab! I wish there were more tabs for older twothirtyeight floating around out there...

Oh, start on 5th instead of 4th on the above thing. My bad.

Sorry, I have to fix it again...

e-5-2-3-2-5-2-3-2

There we go.
