and transpose down a half step.

IS THIS A CHRISTIAN SONG?

Most definitely a Christian song. I consider it akin to the verse about Jesus not coming to heal the well, but the sick. The song basically implies that Jesus is for losers, and that he is himself a loser.

The title is a bit for shock value though, I'll agree. I worked at a Christian bookstore at the time of this album's release and had more than one person ask why we were selling an album with a song called "Jesus is for losers". I guess you just have to know Steve Taylor, who always seemed to use controversy to bring certain subjects to light. Another example would be, "I blew up the clinic real good" - which of course doesn't suggest people should bomb abortion clinics, but just the opposite.
