Comment: This is a beautifully done song.
Feels like a hug from the Lord. Thank you Jill!

N.C. = no chord

First verse:

N.C. C
Oh gently lay your head
          G
upon my chest
           Am7 C F
And I will comfort you like a mother while you rest
N.C. C
The tide can change so fast
            G
But I will stay
                     Am7 C F
The same through the past, the same in the future, same today.

Chorus:
F C
I am constant,
    F C G
and I am near,
F C Am7 Dm Dm7
I am peace that shatters all your secret fears.
F C
I am holy,
    F C G
and I am wise,
F C Am7 Dm Dm7
I'm the only one who knows your heart's desires.
F
your heart's desires.

2nd Verse:

Oh weary, tired, and worn,
Let out your sighs,
And drop that heavy load you pull cause mine is light.
And I know you through and through
There's no need to hide.
I want to show you love that is deep, and high, and wide.

Chorus:

Bridge (verse chord pattern)

Chorus:

Oh gently lay your head upon my chest
And I will comfort you like a mother while you rest
