at the end of each verse where you have it go from G to D/f# then to C it should be G to D/F# then to Em because the song is in the key of E minor not C major.

basic structure is there; we've adapted this for our band and I add the following - it follows the Kathy Mattea version (key, styling, etc):
* capo 3rd
* slow strum on 1st three strings of Em (6-5-4), then pluck 1 & 3 together on 3 followed by 2nd string on 4
* emphasisze the D, then finger pick the D, incl a quick suspension on and off 1, then walk down 2 notes
* Use C instead of Am in verse

have to go for now; more to follow...God Bless! Mike

how do you play D2?
FCC_GUITAR - 2006-04-13
first you play a D2 just like a D chord but you take your middle finger off of the high E string, and second, way to go on the tab man it rocks! nice job.

in response to the comment made about the C being an Em on the end of the second to last line of the verses, it is a C not an Em the song may be in Em but that doesn't mean that the chord structure has to always be one way. listen to the song as written by mark lowry and buddy green and it is a C not an Em

also, the line is "calm a storm" not "calm the sea"
