| joe rustle - 2004-05-26 | | Hi. This is Russell from Joe Christmas. "Couple Skate" is played in the drop D tuning for the main riff guitar. The 2nd, or, harmony guitar is tuned to open D. Drop D is, from low to high, D-A-D-G-B-E. Open D, from low to high, D-A-D-G-A-D, I'm pretty sure that's it. If not, that's close enough to figure out the rest(for open D it should sound like a D major chord when you strum all the strings together w/out fretting any notes.) So, on the intro, you start at the fifth fret & slide up to the 12th, the same for the verses. The chords are G to D for the verses, for standard tuning. When you go to Drop D or Open D,everything moves up one whole step. To play a G chord in drop D, you play at the 5th fret instead of the 3rd. I hope this makes sense! Sorry I'm not more musically literate! I can't remember the rest of the chords but it's easy to figure out. Thank you for being interested in our songs! Sincerely, Russell H. |
