The Stand
Words And Music By Joel Houston 2005
This song is epic off the new hillsong united albulm. The guitar work is
pretty sick, they use heaps of effects and stuff so heaps of the stuff they
play i haven't tabbed cause you have to play around with some effects pedals
(get a good delay).
On the Cd its played with a capo on the 2nd fret moving all the chords played
up 2 semitones.
Verse
G | G | Cadd9 |Cadd9 | G/B | Em7 | Cadd9 |Cadd9| x2
Pre-Chorus
Cadd9 | Am7 | Em7 | G | Am7 | D | Em7 | Em7 |
(They dont play these Em when going into the chorus)
Electric gat bit (very tasteful)
e------------------------------------------------------
B-----7----9-----10-----9----7----9-----10------14-----
G------------------------------------------------------
D--6s7--7s9--9s11---11s9--9s7--7s9--9s11---11s14-------

E------------------------------------------------------
Chorus
1st time through they play the chords a few times before singing

e----------------------------------
B-14--14--17--17--12--12--14--15---
G---14--14--14--14--13--13--14--14-
Then they start singing and use the same chords as above.
Bridge/ Free worship bit
hold the G for ages and the electric gat plays around with what was played
in the pre-chorus but with a slide
then the electric plays this before going off the G
e-------------------------------------------------
B-14-14-14-12-12-12-12-12-15-15-15-14-14-14-14-14-
Then everybody plays
Em | Em | G | G |
Em | Em | G | G |
C | C | G | G |
Em | Em | G | G |
And thats the song. Listen to it for timing and all that. It goes off into
Hallalujah which is just

| OnewayDavid - 2006-04-03 | I think it sounds better if you play the bit before the chorus like this:
e----------------------------------
B-14--14--17--17--12--12--14--15---
G---14--14--14--14--14--14--14--14-

| Mingi_Jammer - 2006-10-31 | Yo! Your tabbing is really good! you got like everything. the only thing that makes me twitch when i play what you tabs is ur little riff in the chorus.
i think it sounds better like this

| iheartgibson - 2007-01-26 | | As far as the delay is concerned... if you set your delay in triplets to the time signature you pretty much are good to go with most United stuff. They use Triplets and Quarter notes on all their music. As far as this song goes... set it to triplets and you'll be good to go. |
