Artist: Thousand Foot Krutch
Song: Move
Album: The Art of Breaking
Tuning: Drop B (B, F#, B, E, G#, C#)
I'm tabbing all the Lead stuff with the same tuning as the Rhythm
Guitar, but you can play it in standard if you move it all down 3 frets.
This will be the sixth tab of this song on the site. Three of the other tabs
are only the intro, (Including my first tab ever) and the other two are
doubles, excluding the second guitar and being a bit off. So I'll have a go.
This is my first "full song online guitar tab". I've submitted my intro tab,
three bass tabs, written lots of tabs on paper and I've been playing guitar
for more than three years, so I'm not inexperienced. But yeah, this is indeed
my first "full song online guitar tab", so here we go.
Sorry for all the unnecessary talk, LOL :)
P.M. or ... = Palm Muting, simply mute the strings with your right palm.
Wah. or ^ = Marks when to push down on the wah wah pedal.
x = Scratching, muting tones with your fret hand to get a cool "dead" sound.
N = My way of making a notation that I explain later on in the tab.
* = Natural Harmonics, place a fretting finger gently over the indicated fret.
/ = Slide up
\ = Slide down
p = Pull off
Intro: (Rhythm Guitar, plays with heavy TFK distortion through whole song.)

B |---222-2--|
P.M. ... .
Pre-Chorus: (Rhythm Guitar)
B |--0007778--|
F#|-----------|
B |-----------|

Play Chorus (Version 1), then:
Chorus: (Rhythm Guitar, Version 2)

B |--0--7-30--5-55/77--0-07-75--5-3-2-0--7-30-5-55/77--0-07-71010--10-5-5--|

After the choruses, Rhythm Guitar plays an open B chord and lets it ring.
Only drums and vocals for a while.

Since there is scratching and natural harmonics being played at the same time,
I think the Lead Guitar actually plays these scratchings synchronized with the
harmonics:
E |---------|
B |--x-x-x--| (It's easier for the Lead Guitar to reach for
F#|--x-x-x--| the chorus stuff fast if it takes the scratchings.)
B |--x-x-x--|
Chorus (Version 1) Here the Lead Guitar repeats the first chorus it played.

Rhythm Guitar ends with a little slide downwards from the final chord.
To erase confusion I might add that the song plays chorus 9 times. First
1 chorus, then 2 choruses, then 2 choruses, ending with 4 choruses.
That should be it. I might have made minor timing mistakes, but otherwise
I think it should be accurate. Hope this song can help you improve your
Guitar play. Please Comment. TFK ROCKS!!!
God Bless,
Daniel
Comments about this tab
| ice_wiz - 2006-03-24 | | Hey man your submitting some nice tabs! Most of TFK's tabs don't have lead guitar on their tabs, so thanx! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-03-25 | Yeah thanx for your support ice_wiz! I've tabbed Quicken too, and
I'm almost done with Absolute. I feel a bit addicted, I want to tab
all the songs they've ever made! lol
I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I'll always want to tab every
single tone. I've already found two corrections to this tab.
Again, thanx for commenting, I was beginning to wonder if anyone
actually read through the whole thing. Thanx! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-03-25 | Yeah, ouch! I've got two small corrections to make. Maybe they
don't make a huge difference, but I want to be correct.
Correction 1: Second part of ALL choruses go like this
(Assuming you divide the chorus into four parts)
E |--------5--553-2--|
B |--0-07-75-0553-2--|
F#|--0-07-73-0331-0--|
B |--0-07-7--0-------|
Correction 2: The Bridge section
E |--------8--------7--|
B |--0-00-xx--0-00-xx--|
F#|--0-00-x6--0-00-x5--|
B |--0-00-x---0-00-x---|
Play this BOTH times |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-03-28 | hey c'mon guys. Pretty many people has watched this tab, could
someone please rate it? I don't wanna rate my own tab you know.
Or telll me a little more about how I'm doing, that would be
so sweet of you. TFK ROCKS!!!
God Bless,
Daniel |
| akaukal - 2006-03-28 | | there i rated it a 5 for ya cuz i think its awesome! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-01 | thanx akaukal, means a lot to me. I don't mean everyone has to rate
a 5, (thanx again akaukal) but it's nice to get some response.
Thank you everyone |

| ice_wiz - 2006-04-10 | | The only difference between jesus_freaks intro and Dani_boy's, is that you have a pull off and don't do a slide at the end, there is really no difference since they are the same notes. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-12 | I think Jesusfreak199 means I got the timing wrong. But really, if you listen to the song and tap your fingers against a table or something to hear the rhythm you'll hear that it's got the same fast rhythm all the time except when it let's a note ring and it's a small pause. Jesusfreak199's version might be easier to read, but I prefer to have it correct than easy to read.
Secondly, why complicate the thing with those 5 fretted notes on the F# string when it sounds exactly the same as loose string notes on the higher B string?
What I'm trying to say is that your version is easier to read but out of timing and it works perfectly fine. But mine works as well too I believe. Just go ahead and play the version you like. As ice_wiz says, they are pretty much the same.
Sorry for writing such long corrections all the time. lol |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-12 | | wow, sorry, I hardly read his entire version. It's a bit off actually. The 7 and the 12 fretted notes are jammed three times. (You know wich ones I mean, just listen) Also, the ending is off. It's 8 fretted notes three times, not one 8 fretted and two 5 fretted. Sorry dude but it's not really correct. |
| SHARK - 2006-04-12 | | I kinda struggle with the chorus rythm |
| SHARK - 2006-04-12 | | SWEET by the way!!! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-13 | | SHARK, listen to the chorus while looking at this tab, that might help. Maybe you've already have, tell me if I can help you in any way. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-16 | | Sometimes it helps to tap your fingers against something along with the song. It really helps to devolop a feeling for the rhythm and especially helps you hear when the rhythm CHANGES. It's a technique I use quite often when I'm tabbing stuff. Hope you can get the feeling for the rhythm, SHARK! |
| SHARK - 2006-04-16 | | thanks 4 the tip Dani Boy |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-17 | | No problem, hope it works out 4 ya! |
| SHARK - 2006-04-19 | | I so hope TFK comes 2 New Zealand one day!!! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-19 | | You live in New Zealand? Wow. I live in Sweden, I hope they come here some day too! |
| SHARK - 2006-04-19 | | sounds like you know what its like then Dani Boy! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-20 | | yeah, I know. I've been listening to TFK for quite some time, but when I got really into them, I just felt "I've gotta see them soon!" So I checked their site and all it seems to say is that their coming to different places in America. So I know how it feels, but if they ever come here... I'm gonna see them!!! |
| SHARK - 2006-04-20 | | hope its soon! |
| SHARK - 2006-04-20 | | I want to see the music video of this!! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-21 | | Yup, they've got a video for this one. You can see it at www.thousandfootkrutch.com! |
| SHARK - 2006-04-22 | | yea Ive tried that but it wouldnt download Ive seen a blury poorly animated version though. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-22 | | I know what you mean. I can only get it to play until the second half of the bridge, then it crashes. It really sucks. TFK are so great, you don't want to miss a good video. Besides, I want to see what happens to that girl in the video. What's she doing there? Interesting... |
| SHARK - 2006-04-22 | | yea that video is going to explain the whole meaning of the song. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-23 | | I think the meaning of the chorus seems to be just Party Party, but the rest of the song has a bit different meaning. The girl is the same girl that's on the cover for the album by the way. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-23 | Hey, I found a place where you can watch the whole video!!!
http://guide.real.com/media/musicguide?contentid=9030550&pageid=myreal.musicguideMAP&pageregion=C2&rnd=1145777769828&bw=150&has-player=true&version=6.0.12.1069
Just paste it all into the adress box and you'll find it. The sound isn't the best maybe, but you've got the whole video there and it works find. You'll need Real Player. The movie is quite strange, I think I'll have to watch a bunch more times to figure out the meaning. If there is any. lol |
| ice_wiz - 2006-04-23 | | The meaning of the song is... if you watch the music video she has a brace thingy on her leg and so do others have stuff like that. The song is about how everyone has there problems and hurts hence the brace on her leg. If you look she is always going against the flow running instead of walking and going the other way. She is crashing to the floor with her hurts and problems, they say in the bridge "coming crashing to the floor and I know there must be more like me". The reason she is going against the flow is because she is trying to break free and find lose her problems. The person she is basically looking for is God. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-24 | | Excellent interpertation, I'll be thinking about that next time I watch the video. TFK almost always finds a way to get a deep message into a hardrockin' song with an attitude. That's what I like about them the most, they're wild and hardrocking yet they are filled with God and a desire for more of him. |
| SHARK - 2006-04-24 | I heard the music in that slow version and theres this strange kind of
sound in the chorus. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-25 | | Paste in my link, SHARK. It's got a strange sound, but it works fine, it aint slow to me anyway |
| SHARK - 2006-04-25 | I think that sound is supposed to be there it sounds kind of wierd but cool!!!
how am I supposed to paste in your link by the way? |
| SHARK - 2006-04-25 | | what I meant by slow version is badly animated it was basicly a slideshow. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-26 | | Mark it, copy it, then paste it in the adress box for internet explorer. Nothing harder |
| SHARK - 2006-04-26 | | thanks Dani_Boy how long does it take to load? |
| SHARK - 2006-04-26 | | thanks Dani_Boy how long does it take to load? |
| SHARK - 2006-04-26 | | WHOOPS!!! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-04-27 | | Not long time at all for me, but I don't know how fast/slow computer you have, it might be different for you. But it should work fine as long as you've got Real Player. |
| ice_wiz - 2006-04-30 | | I actually got to see the video on TV yesterday. Not so blurry and the sound is way better. |
| akaukal - 2006-05-02 | | hey Dani_Boy! Your from Sweden? cool have you ever seen Blindside in concert? I've been wanting to see them forever, but I live in Canada and they never come soo....but I'm seeing TFK June 17!!!!!! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-05-02 | Oh, lucky you!!! No I haven't seen Blindside, but I agree they are a really good band. Have you heard any of their songs where they sing in swedish? They are quite fun to listen to, it's not often you hear heavy rock music in swedish. Most of the more succesful swedish bands sing in english.
I want to see Blindside sometime too. I think you'll have a better chance at seeing Blindside in America than I have to see TFK in Sweden lol |
| akaukal - 2006-05-04 | | Yeah, ice_wiz is trying to get his parents to take him to the same concert i'm going to. |
| akaukal - 2006-05-04 | | I guess I should be thankful though, I have seen Blindside once. I hope Thousand Foot Krutch goes to Sweden sometime, Dani_Boy! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-05-04 | Yeah, so do I!
Hey, I've got over 500 views on this tab! Fun... :) |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-05-04 | | Really fun for you and ice_wiz if that works out. You guys will have to tell me all about it afterwards! |
| akaukal - 2006-05-04 | | You'll have to give me your address so I can send you an autograph lol=P |
| SHARK - 2006-05-05 | | tell trevor he has fans in NZ 2!!!! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-05-05 | | Yup. New Zealand, Canada, Sweden... It's a fun little mixture of nationalities we've got here :) |
| SHARK - 2006-05-05 | I think ive got a good chance to see tfk here cause here in nz we have got the biggest christian music festival out side of america called parachute!
this year bands like anberlin and day of fire came it was o.k. but I hope tfk comes some day! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-05-06 | | hi guys this is shark ive just reregistered. |
| akaukal - 2006-05-07 | | OH NO! Te eF KAY has eaten SHARK!!!!! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-05-07 | | hey Dani_Boy since ive reregistered I could rate youre tab again but im not so sure you want me to do that. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-05-08 | | No, I don't know if I want you to do that. You could give Break The Silence another rate anyway ;) I did get a 0 on that one, so it would only be fair with another rating :) |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-05-08 | | I already did rate that one cause I dont think I rated that as shark. |
| krazykrutchfan4 - 2006-06-05 | Hey Dani_Boy great tab... at last someone has gotten it right!!
and I gave it a 5 so the rating is up to 4.8
Also, have you tried tabbing Hand Grenade?
If not you should put it next on the list!!
Gret job on all the TFK stuff you tab!!
|
| krazykrutchfan4 - 2006-06-06 | Hey Hawk_Nelson89
I tune the guitar to drop d then tune all strings down 1 1/2 steps. I've found it isn't quite exact on some guitars but that should get you relly close, and if you have a half-decent tuner it shouldn't be hard to get it exact from there>>>
Hope this helps....

| Dani_Boy - 2006-06-11 | Thanks for the encouragement, (and the vote) it's what a tabber appreciates :)
I'll try to do Hadn Grenade, it's just that the solo is pretty hard. The rhythm Guitar isn't too hard to do, but the verses might also be a bit challenging because of the faint sound. I'll do it someday, I can promise you that, I just don't know if I can handle the solo yet. |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-06-23 | I can slow the song down on the computer so I just might be able to help a bit
with hand grenade! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-06-25 | Yeah, coooool!!!!
I wish I had that program. I think they might be using tapping techniques in the "insane part" that starts at 2:58. It kinda blows me out, that solo. Well, I'll do it someday... Hope it won't be too long. ;) |
| tl_guitarnut - 2006-06-26 | | Yeah I wish I had that program, I just use Windows Media player, it's helpful when I just want to hear certain parts |
| |)rink)v(tn|)ew - 2006-07-01 | hey for tuning...i like to use a piano...mostly a keyboard cuz i now it's exactly in tune...but it makes it much easier to get the tuning right, and if your in tune then your song will sound great! and if you don't a piano..then uh...sorry but if your dont have a piano or a tuner and want to tune to drop D or standard go here
http://www.gieson.com/Library/projects/utilities/tuner/index.html
and download the tuner to your puter
and Dani-Boy, your my fav tabber btw...we've had a discussion about rawkfistand i tabbed it out again but it hasn't shown up yet...i think they think theres enough "rawkfist" tabs...don't know |
| |)rink)v(tn|)ew - 2006-07-01 | | whoo uh...i think im tired cuz my last message had a lot of typos and is hard to understand |
| |)rink)v(tn|)ew - 2006-07-01 | | i hate drop B bcuz you have to play really softly...TFK uses DEAN MARKLEY strings for that album so im gunna check those out to see if they sound better or if i should just buy the pedal that put your guitar in drop B without retuning....i dont know.... |
| |)rink)v(tn|)ew - 2006-07-01 | | when you put this "2n2" i think you double strum...when, thats what i do |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-07-11 | the "2n2" thingy is explained a little further down the tab. Yeah, I sorta double-strum, I use an upstroke in there anyway. Thanks for saying I'm your favorite tabber, it warms my heart :)
By the way, do you have any idea where you can actually buy that pedal for tuning down? I live in Sweden, so I might not be able to get it, but I still wonder where you can get it. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-07-12 | | Hey cool... I got over 1000 views! ;) |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-08-15 | The riff thing in the verse should be like this:
E |-----------|
B |--8\7-0h8--|
F#|--8\7-0h8--|
B |--8\7-0h8--|
I think anyway :) |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-08-28 | I think the first part of the chorus may go like this:
|-0--7\30-|
|-0--7\30-|
|-0--7\30-|
either that slide or a faster change. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-09-05 | | A slight slide might be in there, yeah. Hey, guys! Please check out my first Flyleaf tab for me. |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-09-05 | | I would if I could if u know what I mean! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-09-07 | | Never heard Flyleaf? hehe, that's okay. Nice tounge-twister. |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-09-07 | | if someone never heard of TFK that would be strange!lol! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-09-07 | | hey could you please check out my 5th tab set it off!that would be appreciated! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-09-08 | | hehe!I'll see you their!;) |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-09-13 | I bought a multi-FX pedal yesterday but I cant't get the wah to sound right!
any idea's? |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-09-24 | Hm... I've got a Crybaby Wahwah pedal with only the wah function. It's manual, so you can adjust the sound by rocking your foot foward and backwards, perfect for the typical wah sound. You can rock it slowly for a nice transforming sound effect, or you can make fast taps with your foot to get a more precise and "aggressive" wah tone. In my tab of "Move" I have marked where to tap your foot with the wah pedal.
The only other pedal I have is a tremolo pedal. With that one you set your desired tremolo sound and then you can only turn it on and off with your foot.
I don't have any multi-effects pedal, but you have got to have a manual type pedal to get the classic wah-effect. If there's only an on/off function then it's not a real wah sound, it's a synth type sound made to sound like the wah pedal. If you have a pedal you can move around manually, then there shouldn't be any problem. :) |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-09-24 | yeah the guy at the music shop told me I would need a proper wah pedal and he showed me a crybaby pedal but it was over the price range I had in mind!
buy the way I think the third part of the bridge use's chorus effect. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-09-25 | | Hope that I could help you out with the pedal situation. Yeah, you could be right about the chorus effect. Too bad I can't try it out... =P |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-09-25 | when you said manually did you mean with an expression pedal?'cause I have one of those on it!
I have a Digitech RP200 Artist by the way.
when I asked for help on the wah I mainly ment with the EQ I think it's a kind of dark sound what do u think? |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-10-05 | hey guys I heard on the tfk website that they are planing to head back to the studio in jan\feb to do some more recording!
Now is that xtremly xiting or what?!? |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-10-05 | | on the radio they r starting to announce who is coming to parachute and have already said Third Day is coming(sigh)(they came at 05)and I heard a rumour that switchfoot is coming but I so hope to here...TFK!!!!! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-10-11 | falling up and rebecca st james is coming 2.
I got X rock hits DVD and it's got move on it!COOL!!! |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-10-14 | | Hehe, cool stuff. With manually I mean that you can adjust the sound by rocking the pedal, not only with the on/off function and pre-set sounds. |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-10-16 | it has got a wah function on the expression pedal but if I let a note ring it start's to go crackly and scream(ouch!)!
by the way falling up and Shaugn Mcdonald is coming! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-10-16 | | or is it spelt SHAWN Mcdonald?lol. |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-10-27 | | TFK is comin to new zealand!!!YES!!! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-11-07 | | oh and my wah problem is solved! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-11-13 | | I am a bit confused with the differnce with scratching and palm muting.a little help please?!? |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-12-01 | | oh I see the difference now!I thought palm muting was just scrating on certian frets!man I was mucked up! |
| Te eF Kay - 2006-12-18 | Hey Dani_Boy!!!
I hear TFK went to Germany did you go!?!?!
|
| Te eF Kay - 2007-01-19 | I play this song quiet a lot so I have found alot of stuff that you missed out!
its mainly just little details and I was wondering if I should post in a new version of move or do you think I should just put the corrections in the correction box? |
| Dani_Boy - 2007-04-01 | | Hey there, it's been a while since I was online at CGR. I didn't go see them in Germany, I did not even know they came there. I do live in Sweden though, so I wouldn't have been able to see them anyway. If you have many corrections I think you should send in a new tab, if you only have a few you can send comments. I would like to know what improvements you've found, send them in! |
| Te eF Kay - 2007-05-01 | great to see you back!
and I was aware you lived in sweden but its not to far from germany compared to u.s.!
TFK came to nz and RAWKED! |
| Te eF Kay - 2007-05-01 | | have you finished "Last Words"? |
