Ok I know there are other posts with several alternate tunings...I looked at what was
Listed on Building429.com and either my CD player plays 1/2 step off or the music
listed on that site is 1/2 step too high. Anywho..I played this several times
with the CD and I think its correct.
First tune to Drop D.. for newbies (please don't others laugh) simply tune your
top E string down 1 Whole step or when it harmonizes with your D String.

The --3 Could be --4 since the website lists a F#/D and I', 1/2 step down
--3 --4 but it doesn't seem right...
--3 --3
There are several variations of the way you can play the chords.
This post is mostly just 1/2 step lower than what is on the website. The
last chord of the chorus, Db, forces the drop D tuning.
Play the verse chord as a bar chord and pull off the 6th fret G string..

| bbay - 2007-05-05 | I havent listened to this song for months, but I'm pretty sure it's something like this.. It may be tuned up or down 1/2 step, but you know they are taking advantage of using the dmajor chord, since it's drop-d.

| iAmAPeanut - 2010-07-15 | This is an awesome tab, but I think there's some things missing...in the intro, there's a little riff thrown in after this:
d-4-3
a-4-3
D-4-3
I don't know if it's right, but here's how I'm doing that riff:
d----------
a------6p4-
D-3h4h6----
If you do the 6p4 with your ring and index fingers, that puts your index finger on the A string fourth fret, so you can easily repeat the intro. I'm not sure if that's what Building 429 does, but it sounds good to me... |
