One Quick Note: I use a pick on this arrangement with a heavy emphasis on the root bass note. I also use the high "D" and "G" as a peddle point in all chords except for two - the Am7 drops the high "D" only and the D chord drops the high "G".

Using a G+5 Chord to explain, The strumming pattern is basicly the 6th String/Low "G" on the first beat, the 4th String open "D" on the second beat, and then strumming with emphasis on the bottom 3 strings on the three and four beats in various patterns throughout the song. So the pick stroke in the verse is something like this:

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
v v v ^ v v v v ^ v ^ v v v ^ v v v ^ v ^ v

You can vary the attack as the song builds and falls, but in a nutshell this will work well for you in both a solo and band environment. You can also fingerpick it to soften it when necessary.
