Artist: Relient K
Album: MmHmm
Song: Be my escape

Hey everyone. While I like to read tabs, I understand that people like having
the actual chords written out too. I want to make this song easy to play,
so I listed out the chords, as well as the tab underneath them.

FYI: There are two guitars playing this song. I don't know what guitar 2 is
doing most of the time, so this won't be 100% complete. *nor perfect*

unless specified, both guitars will be playing the same thing.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Intro:
Guitar 1 plays this

 F#m F#sus2 F#m ???
e-9-- -9-- -9-- -9--
B-10- -9-- -10- -9--
G-11-(x4)-11-(x4) -11-(x4)-9-(x4) (Guitar one plays through out opening)
D-11- -11- -11- -11-
A-9-- -9-- -9-- -9--
E-9-- -9-- -9-- -9--

All the band then comes in and drops down to:
*note: guitar 1 is still playing the beginning while guitar 2 plays both parts.*
Listen to the song if you are confuzzled.
   D
e--5--
B--7--
G--7--
D--7--(x8)
A--5--
E--x--

(play all of the above twice.)

Then guitar 1 and 2 alternate with the opening F#m and F#sus2.

Verse:
Piano plays alone, followed by Guitar 1 second time around. Timing is provided.
  A B D (break) F# E B C# D
e--------- -----------------
B--------- -----------------
G-------7- ---11--9----6--7-
D-7--9--7- ---11--9--9-6--7- (the power chords can be played in many
A-7--9--5- ---9---7--9-4--5- different positions, these are the ones
E-5--7---- ----------7------ that I like to play.)
_____________________________________________________________________________
Pre-Chorus:
Both Guitars play right after Matt starts singing.
You have to hit the chords on a rythym I will try to show.
   F#m D D D(break) A E
e--9--9---5-5-5 -5-5--7-7-7
B--10-10--7-7-7 -5-5--9-9-9
G--11-11--7-7-7 -6-6--9-9-9(play this whole thing twice)
D--11-11--7-7-7 -7-7--9-9-9
A--9--9---5-5-5 -7-7--7-7-7
E--9--9---5-5-5 -5-5--7-7-7

then right before the chorus

  B(x8) D(x4) E(x4)
e-----------------------
B-----------------------
G-44444444---7777--9999- (make sure you palm mute this part. it is what
D-44444444---7777--9999- builds the song to the chorus. The technique for
A-22222222---5555--7777- palm muting is explained on this site. Search it.)
E-----------------------
_____________________________________________________________________________
CHORUS:
YAY, we are finally at the chorus. Here it comes with both Guitars.

   A A E E D D E*E*
e--5-5---7-7--5-5--7-7-
B--5-5---9-9--7-7--9-9-
G--6-6---9-9--7-7--9-9-(this part is played 3x)
D--7-7---9-9--7-7--9-9-(There is also a technical part at the end of the second
A--7-7---7-7--5-5--7-7- time through. You LIGHTLY place your fingers over
E--5-5---7-7--5-5--7-7- the *E* chord and strum up and down fast.)

At the end of the chorus, where Matt is begging, it is just a chord walk-down-up

  F#m E D E
e-9---7--7--7-
B-10--9--7--9-
G-11--9--7--9-
D-11--9--7--9-

_____________________________________________________________________________
Verse 2: we go straight into guitar one playing a cool break ryhtym.
  A B D D
e-------------------------
B-------------------------(I wish I could say exactly how this is timed in text
G--------------7----7----- I can say you have to hit the top to strings of the
D---7----9---777--777----- power chord twice. P.s. palm mute)
A-777--999---555--555-----
E-555--777----------------

  F#m E B C# D
e-9----7---2--4--5--------
B-10---9---4--6--7--------
G-11---9---4--6--7--------

A-9----7---2--4--5-------- Verse 2.)
E-9----7---2--4--5--------
_____________________________________________________________________________
Pre-Chorus:
This Pre-chorus is different because Guitar 2 is playing a lead in the background

Bridge:

Guitar 1 plays the intro again, with guitar fading in, and then out on F#m.

 F#m F#sus2 F#m ???
e-9-- -9-- -9-- -9--
B-10- -9-- -10- -9--
G-11-(x4)-11-(x4) -11-(x4)-9-(x4)
D-11- -11- -11- -11-
A-9-- -9-- -9-- -9--
E-9-- -9-- -9-- -9--

Play above a total of 2 times. Guitar 2 fades in/out on the second time.
Bass comes in on bridge. I wrote out a simplistic tab for it.
  F# D A E
G-----------------------------------
D-----------------------------------
A---------55555555------------------(2x)(second time, Guitar plays intro again)
E-22222222--------55555555-00000000-

At the end of the bridge, the guitars build up (with palm muting), on the F#m.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Pre-Chorus:

Not so much to do this time around. The strings on the piano take over.
Matt plays the same chords as the guitars do. On one part, the guitars chime in.
        F#m D
       e-9----5-
(piano B-10---7-(piano

E-----------------------
_____________________________________________________________________________
CHORUS:

   A A E E D D E*E*
e--5-5---7-7--5-5--7-7-
B--5-5---9-9--7-7--9-9-
G--6-6---9-9--7-7--9-9-(played 3x)
D--7-7---9-9--7-7--9-9-(The technical part is present again)
A--7-7---7-7--5-5--7-7-
E--5-5---7-7--5-5--7-7-

Chord walk-down and up.

  F#m E D E
e-9---7--7--7-
B-10--9--7--9-
G-11--9--7--9-
D-11--9--7--9-
A-9---7--5--7-
E-9---7--5--7-

The piano takes over playing a very lovely melody. The guitars do build on the
middle of the piano playing. But I couldn't figure it out. I'm going to guess
and say a "D" and "E" build up...that is the only part I am not sure of.

Anyways. My email is Rkfan@email.com if you have any questions.

I wrote this tab completely by ear. All the chords above can be shortened into
power chords, depending on taste. This tab is not perfect, nor do I claim it to
be. My goal was to write a simplistic tab while trying to stay as close to the
song as possible. Thankyou for your time.

Radryan2004
morerer rad than you.
