Song: Move
Artist: TFK
Album: The Art of Breaking
I know the cds not out yet, but I got this off purevolume. I'll
come back with corrections later, when I buy it.
Drop D, tune all strings down 1 1/2 steps. B,F#,B,E,G#,C#
I know you're wondering about that, but trust me, it's right.
I'm going to go ahead and use the string names for
drop d for simplicity's sake.

That's pretty much it. Like I said, I'll have some corrections to make when
I buy the cd and put the song on my computer so I can slow it down some.
This should be pretty accurate, though.

| krutchfan66 - 2005-08-17 | | good job man i kept trying to figure this out but i sucked.lol.so ya thanks dude. |
| element1 - 2005-08-23 | | ok great tab. but one thing your tuning is in fact off. i've been to a couple of their concerts and one of the more recent ones w/songs off "The Art of Breaking" and almost ALL of their songs are in drop d. not once did i see them change guitars or retune. |
| joellaw44 - 2005-08-25 | umm...just try playing the songs...you can't. There will be a note that is
lower than any note you can play in D. so don't tell me the tuning is off. |
| JESUS follower - 2005-09-06 | | Hey can someone please tell me what p means,what h means,and what x means.I'm new at this. |
| tsr4e - 2005-09-07 | maybe they used 7 string guitars
|
| tsr4e - 2005-09-07 | maybe they used 7 string guitars r somethin
|
| tsr4e - 2005-09-07 | | cool i added 2 corrections without thinking |
| Dare - 2005-09-12 | | 'p'means pull-off,'h' means hammer-on,and x usually means to mute the strings with your fret hand.they have a section on how to read tabs somewhere on here where it explains everything.i think... |
| TFK_FREEK - 2005-09-12 | | this is really close!! and whoever said there is a 7 string guitar theres not... i saw them do it yesturday at harvest moon!!! |
| JESUSFReaK301 - 2005-09-25 | | I've pretty much found most of their songs are in drop d so I'm guessing if it's in a concert they would have to change guitars, so I say it should probably be in drop d |
| tsr4e - 2005-10-03 | who cares they play it in drop b on the cd 4 a fact u cant play it w/out it so stop the debate
|
| 12ptrsfldSTONES - 2005-10-19 | | this is odd, because I saw them play this song at Creation, and Jamie didn't change guitars at all during the whole concert. Not only that, but TFK almost always plays in Drop D. The only thing I can think of is you are mistaking the bass for the guitar. |
| joellaw44 - 2005-10-25 | | No. I am not. If you need a specific example that proves what the tuning of the song is, go to 1:30, right before the 2nd chorus. There is a palm muted B5 chord. The bass note of the guitar is lower than open d in drop d tuning. Therefore, you have to tune the guitar lower. I don't know what tuning they use in concert, it's possible that they just play the song higher. ON THE CD, THE SONG WAS RECORDED WITH A GUITAR USING A LOW B STRING. It could be a 7 string, but I am guessing that it is just downtuned. Another thing, the song puppet, on 'set it off' was in drop b also, so this is not the first time that they have done this. If you don't agree with me, try making your own tab in drop d and just see how it sounds. |
| tfk_rox - 2005-11-09 | | will some1 please tab "ordinary." oh and great tab |
| ice_wiz - 2005-11-22 | the intro doesn't sound right if you wanna hear it right go to www.ultimate-guitar.com they have a gret tab of the intro.

| lesismore1990 - 2005-11-29 | | hey guys did u know that there is a effect called pitch shift that can make your guitar sound like it's in a different tuneing than it really is. I know this for a fact because my friend uses it on the red by chevelle. If they don't switch guitars or change tunings then they probobly used a pitch shifter. |
| ChurchPunk 2 - 2005-11-29 | | I think the person above me is right. I saw them, and the only time they changed guitars were for "Puppet" and "Breathe You In". And This Is A Call, but that dosent count. Remember, people, effects and distortion go a long way to dropping the pitch of a song. Or at least make it sound like they do. Norma Jeans "Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste" is in D, and that sure dosent sound like it. |
| Adam K - 2005-12-14 | | It's definitely in Drop B. |
| gameguru007 - 2005-12-30 | what about this scenario: It's a baritone guitar he uses (check out this link...
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/511325/
it has heavier strings, which allows for DROP B TUNINGS, yet can still reach D
If you watch the vid, it looks like the guitar on my link |
| Musikfreakdotco - 2005-12-31 | | so i played the intro (in drop d, but moved all the notes down three frets for the right tuning and no i did not retune it) and it sounds right. i must say he must be using a pitch shifter or he's using a baritone guitar like the other dude said. but really, studio records generally are different then their live versions, especially when it comes to out of the normal tuning for that artist. |
| Musikfreakdotco - 2005-12-31 | | o yeah i forgot to say you forgot a bunch of fills and also you need to clean your tab up. i can't see any type of rhythms in here to help show how to play the song and maybe if you could put the times of the song that riff appears in that'd be great. only helping yah out. ;-) |
| deerboy - 2006-02-15 | | I think this tab is all right. And you don't need a baritone to reach drop B. B is my all time favorite tuning and I play on my guitar. All you need is good tuning pegs. Please, if you really have a drop tuning debate, take it to the forums. |
| Adam K - 2006-02-19 | hey and yo. here's some of the song.

There.I think? |
| Monk-E - 2006-03-04 | hey just putting in my coment but i think drop b tuneing is way to low for any T.F.K. song. plus although i hope they wouldn't do this but since they are a big tooth and nail band its posible that they don't perform live but just play a tape for the concert. i don't know someone should ask them if you get a chance.
T.F.K rocks, Kelson
Ps: does anyone know the forth member of T.F.K. i can't figure it out on the posters and internet sites there's only three. this has gotten me really confused???? |
| swapgtrst340 - 2006-03-12 | | Alright, in response to the above person, the fourth member's name is Jamie (sp?) and I have his autograph too btw, on a totally random side note. And they for sure do tune their guitars down in concerts, I was watching for this because the question came up in my mind as well. Both Jamie and Joel tuned (what looked like a pretty big tuning, cause the pegs weren't just tweaked a little like an adjustment) at the same time, and after that they played puppet. They also retuned before Move. So I am fairly certain that that's what they do. In fact, ironically enough, my friend and I were jamming a little before youth group tonight and we played both Puppet and Move, and I tuned to drop B and it sounded pretty much like they do it. My friend has a 5-string bass so no retuning necessary on his part. Hope this clears things up for those of you with questions. |
| Dani_Boy - 2006-03-26 | I really loved the wild discussion here. It's in Drop B. People
seem to really love this tab, but to be honest it's very off,
specially in the chorus. I don't mean to be rude. If you want to
know what I think it should sound like then check out my version
including the Lead Guitar.
|
| punkrocka - 2008-09-22 | most of TFk's stuff is in drop B especially in the new album I think some of the slower
songs are standard tuning but a lot of them is in a way lower then normal sound |
