Would not be a F#/A chord not a DMaj7. See the notes you are playing when you play that chord are F#, A, and C# which is the basic form of a F# Major chord. However the bass note in that chord is an A so the chord becomes an F#/A which simply means an F# Major chord with an A bass note.
If you play this chord...

It is DMaj7. The notes you are playing are an D, F#, A, and C# which make up a basic root position DMaj7 chord.
Now you are talking about related chords. You can play them over each other and it will sound good because they are made up of the same notes give or take one. But in and of itself to say one is the other is incorrect. They are related but not the same and each have seperate correct names.

| Mar-T - 2005-09-21 | | I play the song on Capo 2. The intro is like G C G C, just play around with the finger pickings. It sounds good enough to me. If you want I can submit that tab. |
| leopardgirl92@h - 2005-10-04 | hey could i have the words to this song also?? i'm doing a special at church so i need the words. :) thanks

| barker535 - 2005-11-23 | Hey everyone, this may be kinda odd, but I've never heard this song on the album it's actually on. I have the live acoustic version of it and the acoustic version is drop tuning. Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. Use the exact same cord progession, but everything is just a half-step down. Sounds great this way too, and for some who cant quite sing the higher notes (like me) this way will help a lot.
God Bless!

| nicholec5 - 2006-01-24 | | mireimage48, you have the chords correct, but the placement of the capo is wrong. Place the capo on the first fret, and play along with the unplugged, Franklin, TN version. It sounds great then. God Bless! Keep Rockin, Nichole |
