I just got their new CD this past week and decided to try to chord this song
out. If you are confused at all, email me and I will give you a copy with
lyrics. Thanks alot, enjoy! Also, if you want a version without
the capo e-mail me! I also have the solo at the end of the song tabbed
at the bottom!

CAPO FIRST FRET

Intro: (Keys, just strum once per chord)
D – Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – G

Verse One: (Fingerpick around the chord)
D – Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – G
D – Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – G

Pre-Chorus: (Sounds like muted power chords)
D – Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – Bm7 – G

Chorus: (High power chords, or do what I do... play full chords strumming only
down the entire time, that's what Bryan does, listen to it!)
D - Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – Bm7 – G

Verse Two: (Same as verse 1)
D – Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – G
D – Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – G

Bridge: (Same as chorus)
D – Asus – Bm7 – G
D – Asus – Bm7 – G

Solo: (right at the end of the song, 4:03)
e|---11--13--15--16--18--16p15--16p15--11--18--20---------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------------------------------------------|

On the last note of the solo, it sounds like Bryan is using a "Divebomb"
effect. That's the end then. This is played over the bridge chords.
Sounds like alot of delay, and some high-end distortion with reverb.

Order of Song:
Intro
Verse 1
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Verse 2
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Bridge
Intro
Pre-Chorus (slow -- fingerpick around chords)
Chorus (slow—acapella) (x2) (you can try to strum only once per chord)
Bridge (all-out craziness... yay! go wild on this part worshipping)

yours is good but i think its easier to play it this way

verse

a e f#m d
a e d x2

pre chorus

a e f#m d

chorus

a e
f#m d
a e
f#m e

and the bridge is the same as the pre chorus

I'd like to add that, yes, Mr. Switchfoot, you can play it that way... I do myself in fact. I enjoy just messing around with different chords for it. I watched the Newsboys play this song at the Patriot Center, and they did it this way. So, if you want to go with exactly what's on the CD, there's the D A Bm G for ya. But, the A E F#m D sounds great too. You could also use B9 F#m G#m E, C G Am F, C# G# A#m F#, etc. Either way, great song!

Oops... I meant that the Newsboys play it the way the tab says! hehe, sorry for the "confusion" that, likely, didn't occur...

Hey guys I've been looking at this song too. You can also play G D Em C as the chords.
JohnM - 2005-10-11
Yes, any of those are "correct", but they are all in different keys. There's like 12 different ways you can play it: but the tab is in the key that the song is played in on the CD.

What chord fingerings do you use?
bassfreek208 - 2006-02-13
just to add to the fun (and hopefully not the confusion), the bass plays
Eb Bb Cm G#, and that seems to sound the best to me
MAG1 - 2006-03-09
it would be easyier to play if it was more spaced out
and i think that the guy just above me is right about the chords

Hey does anyone know how long it takes for a tab to come up on the site after you submit it? I submitted the tab a few days ago and the song wasnt on the site already so i dont know why they wouldn't post it. Please help!
