God of Wonders
Third Day (Caedmon's Call, Leigh Nash)
Album: City on a Hill
Written by Marc Byrd and Steve Hindalong
Transcribed by scheller sonnyschell@hotmail.com
I just want to say thanks to everyone who has written me about this
song. This will be the last (I hope) update. I've gone back and
tabbed everything over again and included all the lead parts I missed.
There are free chord sheets for this song available here:
http://www.gospelcom.net/baloche/resources/pdf/GodOfWonders.pdf
but you'll have to transpose the chords to match this recording.
I've done a powertab score for this song available here:
http://www.christianguitar.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1437458&posted=1
Also, there is another version of my tab here:

| TANKOLB40 - 2004-08-19 | On the first chorus it should go
G Dsus4 Dsus2 Dsus4 Em7 Cadd2 Em7 Cadd2 2x
And then The part where it "Lord of Heaven and Earth" it goes
C2 Em7 2x
nice job though man |
| sir_malimus - 2004-08-30 | umm dude those chords are not exactly right.
intro:
Fsus Fsus/C Bb/D Ebsus2 Bb/D
Verse1
Fsus/C Bb/D Ebsus2 Bb/D
Fsus/C Bb/D Ebsus2 reapeat both lines
chorus:
Bb Fsus F Cm7 Ebmaj7 Bb Fsus F Cm7 Ebmaj7
Eb(add9) Fsus Gm7 Ebsus2
then reapeat the intro and do verse 2
these are the chords that are in the book, but your version works, but these will give you the reall third day sound

| scheller - 2004-09-04 | | Those would be the chords for without a capo, which Third Day nor any other group do as far as I know. Please post the chord fingerings because I don't think beginners can figure out how to play a Eb(add9) otherwise. I think they just put the chord names that reflect the actual tonality and not the shape. For instance, an Fsus would correspond to a Dsus4 with capo 3. |
| Digger - 2004-09-21 | | Or...you could just play the whole thing without a capo using the normal chords. And it sounds ok, and people can sing it just fine. Much easier that way. |
| truffle shuffle - 2004-10-01 | | hey guys if you could put the chords in tabs that would be so awsum cus im like just a beginer. thanks!!!!! |
| guitarmonkey<>< - 2004-10-14 | I played with Andy Osenga ( guitarist for Caedmons) and when its "lord of heaven and earth" its C / D* /C / D* (/ slide)
hope that helps |
| scheller - 2004-10-20 | | thanks guitarmonkey! In my tab, I just call the D a Dadd4, but it just confirms I was right in what I was hearing. As does this video of the writers of this song. It goes through and shows how to play it: http://boss.streamos.com/wmedia/emicmg/newsongcafe/video/wma/300/0302.wvx |
| platinum_wave - 2004-10-24 | thanx for all the help bud! we appreciate all your hard work. may god bless you for spreading the light of God's message into the lives of so many others!
Dave |
| drummer1165 - 2004-10-29 | I play and sing this in G
Chorus:
G D Em C
Verses:
C D
Bridge:
C D
Hope it helps. God Bless!

| Retrnfrmfallen - 2004-12-30 | | and what i call Cadd9 is your Cadd2 i dunno whats right thats just how i learned it, thanks |
| Your Mom - 2005-04-20 | I like how you put in the strum pattern, I don't have the CD so it helped alot.
Good tab!
God Bless |
| e_row - 2005-04-26 | | I have to agree that playing these chords without a capo not only still sounds good, but it allows a much wider range of people be able to sing along. |
| shred/dan - 2005-05-03 | | Super job on this, I've been looking for a good version for awhile, now I found one!!! Thanks. |
| Godsson44 - 2005-07-13 | | sorry, but what does Cadd2 mean???? |
| Guitargirl2God - 2005-07-18 | Cadd2 it's played

| bro_in_christ - 2005-08-08 | | hey, great tab! i've been looking for a good tab cause i'm planning on playing this with a couple of my friends at my church. alright, thanks again and God bless. |

It's the only one to be in the correct key.
Good going.
God Bless...
Rachel. |
| 68GLP - 2006-01-28 | | whats up guys!! the way that i have always played it is in F!! You can either play it in F with no capo like: Verse F G Eb Chorus Bb Fsus Cm7 Eb "Lord of Heaven and Earth" Cm7 Eb! but an easier way to play it, in my opinion is to capo on the 3rd fret and play the chords fingered as: Verse Dsus Em7 C2 Chorus G Dsus/D Am7 C2 "Lord of Heaven and Earth" Am7 C2!! hopefully that helps you guys and anyone else who has any doubts about this song!! this is how i play it in my youth band any time we play it!! If you ever wanna change the key of the song (incase a girl needs it changed)(my sister sings it in a different key) holla at me at jeshuaservant@yahoo.com and i will gladly help!!!God Bless!! and... ROCK ON!!! |
| maydavidj - 2006-05-17 | | This looks very close to me. It's easy to play this way too. This is alot like the version on www.ChurchMusic.co.nr. I would just play the one that was posted, because it looks to me to be more correct than the comments. |
| guitarplayer101 - 2006-05-17 | | Nice tab. The intro is perfect. I think though that in the chorus it goes Dsus4, then drop down to a D after he says the "eee" in "beyond our galaxy". Otherwise almost perfect. |
| Calmedtron - 2006-06-08 | Outside of the sheet music I have for this song...it is the most accurate version of the song. Everything sounds right. The timing is a little wierd, but most good players can figure it out without help.
Peace out,
Caleb |
| guitarist1393 - 2006-06-15 | | Perfect accept 4 1 thing. cadd2 is a cadd9. This is a great song for praising our wonderful heavenly father. |
| enochcyn - 2006-06-23 | | HI this is a wonderful tab and chords!! Gret job.. however the bridge part from C to Dsus4 sounds a bit funny when i played it. Is it i played wrmgly, or it does sounds funny?? |
| Codyf - 2006-07-19 | dude this is a really good tab...I love playing it!
|
| hanr - 2006-07-22 | | you guys need to watch new song cafe. learn it from the original. the rythm is taught in there too. |
| unitedfan - 2006-07-27 | hey man
the chords of the verse are .. .Dsus xx0233
Em7 020033
C2 030033
G 320033
and it goes like this: Dsus Em7 C2 G (C2)
and the part hallelujah to the Lord of heavens and eath is C/G and D/A which is (C/G)332010 and (D/A) 55403x. and its played according to the capo.

|
| gsus_freak_01 - 2006-11-29 | it is really great to know our god is awesome, and he is the god of wonders. So as you play the song, think of how awesome our god really is.
