The Red
Chevelle

Tabbed by: Rob Trennepohl

This a pretty easy song as long as you do this tuning style:

E
G
B
C#-Lowered half a step
G#-Lowered half a step
C#-Lowered half a step from drop D

The tuning is key. Without that tuning, you really can't play any of the
song because the guitar won't go low enough. This is exactly what it
sounds like on the CD.

Intro (Main Riff) (x2):
E------------------------------------------------
G------------------------------------------------
B------------------------------------------------
C#--0-0-2-0-0--3-3-5-3-3--0-0-2-0-0--8-8-8-8-8---
G#--0-0-2-0-0--3-3-5-3-3--0-0-2-0-0--8-8-8-8-8---
C#--0-0-2-0-0--3-3-5-3-3--0-0-2-0-0--8-8-8-8-8---

Verse (entire verse is palm muted) (x4):
E------------------------------------------------

C#--0-0-2-0-0--3-3-5-3-3--0-0-2-0-0--8-8-8-8-8---

Chorus (not palm muted):

C#--10--10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10--5-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-

Main Riff (unpalm muted) (x2)

Verse (palm muted) (x8)

Chorus

After Chorus (Main Guitar)(x2):
He uses a weird effect. I don't know the rythymns here, but here's the
tabs for each note.
E------------------
G------------------
B---1--------------
C#---------0-------
G#------3----------
C#-----------------

On that part, the other guitar just plays the main riff palm muted (x4).

Then Chorus (x2):
First time is normal.

Then play the main riff unpalm muted (x4).
Ending (when he holds out his "scream" or whatever you want to call it):
E----------------------------------------------------------------
G----------------------------------------------------------------
B----------------------------------------------------------------
C#--8-8-x-x-x-x-x--8-8-x-x-x-x-x--7-7-x-x-x-x-x--7-7-x-x-x-x-x-0-
G#--8-8-x-x-x-x-x--8-8-x-x-x-x-x--7-7-x-x-x-x-x--7-7-x-x-x-x-x-0-
C#--8-8-x-x-x-x-x--8-8-x-x-x-x-x--7-7-x-x-x-x-x--7-7-x-x-x-x-x-0-

Let the last note ring out. That's the song! I really like this song,
except it is kind of a hastle changing the tuning every time! Enjoy! ^_^
