I play the intro as:
e----12-*let ring*----19-19-24-
B-12---------------19----------

in a tab, numbers in parentheses () are harmonic notations. Play the harmonic above the fret of whatever number is in the parentheses. So (12) means to play the harmonic above the 12th fret.

If you don't know what harmonics are, then take your guitar and just touch the string above the 12th fret. don't push down on it at all, but touch it firmly. now, pluck the string, and a high ringing tone will sound. that's harmonics. the 12th fret is the easiest place to sound harmonics, buth the 5th and 7th also sound, and sometimes I can get the 3rd to do as well. But some frets are harder than others. it's all physics and frequencies and stuff I don't know. I just know it works. Usually, distortion helps pick up the harmonic.

There's also a harmonic on the 4th and 9th fret but they're kinda useless. Also, it helps the harmonic tone if you lift your finger off of the string once you have plucked the tone.

Those 19's are the same notes as the 7's just higher up. In case you didnt know. I like your version but I only have 21 frets and that is a huge bend to get a 24. ouch.

sorry to add another, but I think it really goes like this:
e----(12)-----(7)--(5)--- [harmonics]
B--(12)-----(7)----------

When you listen to the song. He plays the two twelves, then pauses for 4? seconds, then he plays the sevens and jumps to that five.

to compromise, if you don't have a 24 fret guitar...play this for the intro

[--12*----14-----12*--]
[-12--------12--12----]

(* is the notes you hold out) i dont feel like doing the rest of the intro because the rest is written out by other tabs on this site, so im not even going to bother...
